Adrian S. Learst
In the dark, Adrian walks along a path with a scowl on his face. His coat waving slightly in the night air as he looks for small copse of trees to camp for the night. His left hand's fingers rolling a coin over the knuckles as he contemplates his next move. In a low voice he whispers, " I was so close that time, I thought for sure i had them." A slow smile creeps across his face, his left hand flips and catches the coin, noticing it's not face up, he continues flipping it until it is. After a short walk, Adrian finds himself a few trees. In which he begins to set up a campfire. He starts by clearing away grass and leaves, once a nice area is free of debris, he sets to building his fire. First to be placed is small, dried sticks and leaves, he sets the leaves in a circle and places the leaves within. Next he gathers larger pieces of wood and makes each of them into two foot lengths. Once each is of similar length, he picks out one that he likes and places it in the middle of the leaves, standing straight up. Then, being careful not to knock any over, he leans each towards each other so they create a cone. Now completed, and satisfied with the fire pit, he sets to lighting it. Once lit, Adrian leans back against a tree and pulls out his map of the continent as well as a small red wax pencil "Alright," he says with some satisfaction, "as i had figured, i could find none of them here, so where to next?" "Tisret is full of science people, and Nelthet is filled with those star nuts, Hmm." All the while scratching his chin in contemplation.

Lettie:
Letevna had been traveling for a long time. Well, two years to be exact, but that wasn't quite what I was going for. Her latest bout of traveling had been going on for about two weeks at this point. But she didn't mind. It kept her from doing some of the stupider things she had done back in the day (ie Two years ago).
Either way, she was getting tired and was thinking about bedding down for the day when she noticed a light in the distance. Intrigued (and partially hoping that she wouldn't have to do all of her usual work tonight) she moved towards the light. It didn't take her long to reach the source of the light and when she did, she took a moment to analyze the man sitting there.
The man seemed brooding, but Lettie finally came to the conclusion that he didn't look like someone who would threaten her on sight. And so, with that in mind, she pulled her hood over her head, looking like nothing more than a traveling monk, and stepped into the light from the fire.

Startled by this mysterious dark brown cloaked individual, Adrian hops onto his feet and immediately takes up a defensive stance, his weapons quickly appearing into his hands. "Who are you?" Adrian demands. His eyes never once leave the leaving the figure for a second.

Lettie:
'Well, perhaps I was wrong after all,' Lettie thought idly as the man was suddenly standing in front of her, baring weapons. Either way, she bowed very slightly from the waist, making no move towards her own weapons, looking nothing more than a humble monk still.
"I mean you no harm," she said as she straightened, her voice betraying her gender finally. "I wish only to share the heat of your fire. If it will bring you ease, I will tell you my name. It is Letevna Gilson. I am an Alchemist of the Empress, wanderer from Qeltikna."
She stopped speaking after that, having given all the information that protocol demanded she give and waiting for the man's response, wondering if she will have to draw her weapons after all.

After taking note that the intruder was a female dealing no ill will towards him, Adrian carefully put his weapons away, first his scimitar and then the rapier. After taking one good look at her, he sits himself back down and waves his hand, palm up, to join him. "Sorry about that, one can never be too careful when traveling the road alone." He said while pulling a few pieces of dried meat and a small hunk of bread out of his knapsack. "Especially at night." Before beginning to eat, Adrian carefully folds up his map, all the while hoping Letevna didn't notice the red circles surrounding Tisret and Nelthet. He began eating his food, first a bite of meat then of bread, and after a short while a swig from his cask of mead. "Have you anything to eat for the night?" Adrian asks, setting down his cask.

Lettie:
Letevna smiled politely and took a seat near the fire when the man finally gestured for her to. "Oh, I completely understand, sir. I know what it's like to travel alone." Another smile spread across her lips for a brief moment before she took up staring into the fire thoughtfully, not noticing his map in the slightest.
When he asked her if she had any food, she simply held up her hands and smiled once again. "I've eaten on the road already." One of her sleeves slipped slightly, revealing her scarred forearm briefly. As quickly as it had shown, she had pulled the sleeve back down to the tips of her fingers, hiding any trace of skin on her arms once more.
"So where do you travel to, sir?" Her voice contained nothing but curiousity.
((OOC: My apologies for the long response time!!))

Not worrying too much about her quick response to cover her arms he states,"It is a bit uncharacteristically chilly tonight is it not?" Hoping to change the conversation about travel. After saying this, he reaches to the side where Adrian has stacked a small pile of firewood, and picks three of the about the same size and places them into the fire forming a triangle around it's base. Satisfied with his accomplishment he sets down back at his seat, and begins to roll the quarter over his knuckles again,"What sort of potions can you make as an alchemist?"

Lettie:
Holding back a small snort at the obvious change of subject, Letevna gave Adrian a grin, rubbing her arms unconsciously. "It is chilly, isn't it?"
She looked at the man as he asked about her alchemical skills. "Oh, you know. Healing potions, armaments of sorts, and a few emotion-changers. The usual."
It was better he not think she was any more skilled than any other alchemist out there.

'You would not happen to have any previously made healing potions on you for purchase?' he says while he arranges a handful of pebbles into separate size and color categories. A deep and sorrow-filled look crosses his mind for a second, only to be replaced quickly with a thoughtful grin as he sweeps the pebbles away.
